"No one in the world is doing what you guys do, combining the structural elements of story telling with the power and creativity of play. This process is fantastic."

Academy Award Winner Dr George Miller, Happy Feet, Mad Max, Babe, Witches of Eastwick, Lorenzo's Oil

If your dream is to write a novel or screenplay our first draft course will get you doing it.

You don’t need to have a clear idea for a story to start. The course's step-by-step process begins by helping you find and clarify the key characters and story in a broad outline before embarking on writing your actual first draft.

The course then provides the structure, accountability and support you need to complete your first draft in 10 months, and is designed for people working full-time.

"This is without a doubt the best writing course in Sydney. I strongly recommend it to anyone with a story to tell and more to the point - to people unsure of what the story they want to write is."

Sam de Brito - The Lost Boys, Hello Darkness, White Collar Blue, Water Rats and Sun-Herald columnist.

Welcome to the Writers' Studio

Many people have a passionate desire to write fiction and long to see their books in print or their films on the big screen. However, the desire to write is only the beginning of the journey. Writing powerful stories, creating compelling characters and writing in a way that makes other people want to read what you've written doesn't just happen.

Making this work on the page is the art and craft of fiction writing and is a discipline that takes time to master. Just having the knowledge from a book or a lecture is rarely enough. You need a practical approach to structure and a step-by-step process to de-mystify the craft. The Writers' Studio gives you a pathway to realise your writing dreams.

No Man's Land - A Russell Carter Thriller

“A thriller that has all the elements for success.... Fishman sets a fierce pace over almost 400 pages with the action seldom slowing." THE SUNDAY AGE & SUN HERALD

"All of this makes Carter an unexpected hero type - flawed, questioning, brave with enough of the all action hero type to be very believable. And it doesn't hurt that there's nothing decorative female about Erina - she's a strong, capable woman in her own right...

"Added to the believability of the unexpected, the realistic portray of the two central characters, and a strong plot, there's a hefty dose of good, dry very Australian humour."  KAREN CHISHOLM - AUSTRALIA & NZ CRIME FICTION REVIEWS
