I highly recommend this great little ‘Unlocking Creativity’ course if you want to write. All of the writers in this course have improved by coming closer to the themes we most want to write about. The combination of self-reflection exercises and the creative writing exercises really helped to identify what we were each hoping to achieve.

Receiving feedback was both reassuring, challenging and delightful all at once! Specific examples for improvement across all submissions helped to cement the tools and craft as we witnessed our own and other’s application. Witnessing each unique writer’s growth was a great way to learn too. I highly recommend Unlocking Creativity, it’s exactly what happened for me, and with extra skills on board now, it will be more purposeful and enjoyable.

One of the most important takeaways has been learning to let go of the inner critic. I realized that listening to that internal voice only creates obstacles and hinders the writing process. I was genuinely surprised by how easily the words came once I settled into the work. I have definitely seen my own writing improve. I found myself captivated by the short stories at the end and enjoyed following the work of specific writers.

I would recommend this course to anyone considering investing in their writing. I am grateful to those who recommended this course, whether I go on to another or not. And I am thankful for not only my tutor, but all the fellow writers who shared this journey with me. One day I’m going to see many of those names in print, I am certain.

I learnt more in this course than I have in any other writing course I have completed. I loved the idea that writing can be messy and ‘structured’ at the same time and really enjoyed learning to dig into my emotions and imagination. I have definitely seen my peer’s writing improve over the four weeks and I know that my writing has improved. I loved reading people’s work and providing feedback.

I’m leaving the course with clearer goals, a steadier writing routine, and a renewed sense of excitement. It feels good to carry this momentum forward. I would definitely recommend this course to other students and would-be writers and will be taking up the next course in February.

I’ve enjoyed creating a writing habit and now I don’t want to stop! I had already signed up for the 10 month novel writing course and can’t wait to get my teeth in. The biggest thing I’ve gained from the course has been confidence, both in my writing and that structure will hold my writing up when I’m not sure where to go with it. I thought I had my writing goals set when I start this course but I find now I want to reach bigger than those original meagre goals. So I’m a little less sure about what to write but a little more inspired that I can. I’m looking forward to continuing the journey in such a positive environment.

It was interesting, mind blowing, the feedback and how my pieces were interpreted. Some readers had a different vision of the scene I had set before them. I thoroughly enjoyed reading their different pieces, for I could appreciate the hardship of them putting pen to paper. I have learnt to write every day, or at least four times a week. This for me means to set aside certain days/times that I will write. To let everything (everyone) simply wait.

The Course lived up to its name – it unlocked my creativity – igniting the passion that was already there and giving me the confidence to write. The time flew and I relished every day. I didn’t think that an online course could be so rewarding. This course was my first writing experience, and it exposed me to how the exercises sparked such a range of different stories told by my fellow writers. I learned so much and feel more able to embark on the next step of this journey – the 10-month Novel and Script First Draft course next year. I am so grateful for a wonderful experience. I could not have been on a better Course.

I am so glad that I signed up for and completed the Unlocking Creativity writing course. The four weeks have absolutely flown by (proof of how much I enjoyed it) and I’ve been pleasantly surprised by the writing I produced throughout the experience.

I’ve just finished the Writer’s Studio Unlocking Creativity Course. I found it really inspiring, useful and challenging. It was four weeks long and each week was packed with activities that were incredibly practical and really helped me learn the craft of fiction writing. I got so much out of this course, that I just want to do more.

The chance in the course was the opportunity to luxuriate in the moment. Make writing fun again. The early exercises set my imagination alright. But I felt all the feels. Reading the work of others and thinking about how to comment on their work was fascinating. Such a cascade of ideas, it was a kinship. But four weeks of work does feel like an accomplishment. I’m delighted by the opportunity. And as Arnie says (scripted line), “I’ll be back”.

I’ve come to the end of the four-week unlocking creativity course with the Writer’s Studio. The progress I’ve made with my writing in just four short weeks is unbelievable. I used to struggle greatly with paralysis when it came to sitting down to write, and writing was starting to feel like a chore, a struggle. But thanks to this course I’ve completely loosened up. I’m having fun with storytelling again. Connecting back to the reason I loved it as a kid, and also returning to the simplicity of writing with pen and paper rather than typing (It’s way more conducive, I’ve found). What the Writer’s Studio offers to those who want to write, is unconditional permission to do so. I do in fact feel like I have ‘unlocked’ myself. And I am not so afraid anymore.

The course has energised me to change a pipe dream into a reality. I can’t wait to get back to the writing desk each day. What a joy!

I felt my writing and creative spirit blossom, gaining confidence through sharing feedback and growing inspiration from the other great writers. I noticed everyone else improve along the way, everyone’s ability to paint a picture was so good, by the end I was fully immersed in every piece I read.

I’ve just completed the 4-week Unlocking Creativity course with The Writer’s Studio, and it was so good! I wanted to challenge myself and use my time more productively and boy did that happen.

The Writers Studio has opened a door that I can’t close now. Having thought that unlocking my creativity was waiting for inspiration to hit, I now realise that the tools I’ve learnt really do unlock my creativity. Exactly as the last 4 weeks has taught me. I don’t want this feeling to stop. This feeling of having given such a long-held desire, a go. For so long I have put off doing this for myself. Putting myself first and daring to explore giving writing a chance beyond journals and deep thoughts. I am sure I will see many names from this course when I read your future books.

I have had a marvellous time writing things I never thought I could write and never expected to write about. Some of the best parts have been learning to just put pen to paper and let the weird and wonderful words fly. All throughout the course we have been reading and commenting on each other's work and everyone has made dramatic improvements along the way. It really is a fantastic course and you should try it.

My creativity has been dormant for so many years and I wanted to see what could be "unlocked". Just to write again has been wonderful, as has reading and hearing other people's work. I am amazed at how the creative juices can flow through regular pen to paper but also from taking away the pressure for anything to be good. Pressure to write but not pressure to deliver.

It has been the most amazing experience. I didn't really know I wanted to write but now I love writing. The tools make even the impossible seem doable. And even in such a short time, I have seen my writing and my fellow writers' stories come alive, dancing on the page each with their own unique flavour. Do it. You won't regret it.

Over the last four weeks I have reconnected with my creative thinking after many years of doing little to feed my soul. If you ever wanted to write a story I would recommend you try this course. You'll love it.

This writing course has breathed new life into my craft. I am a writer! I have enjoyed every single aspect - and it makes me believe that I can finish the projects I've started and begin new ones. I've made friends. I've been impressed with my friends' writing, but mostly it's their generosity and kindness and talent and beauty that inspires me. I’ve just finished the “Unlocking Creativity” writing course and it has opened so much up for me. I now have the first part of a structure to start wrangling those stories that have been rumbling around in my head for so long now. The growth we all experienced was so obvious and, so gratifying.

This last 4 weeks have been truly incredible. Each week went deeper, like peeling an onion. The honest feedback from tutors and fellow writers was very informative and helpful. There are the makings of some great books lurking inside the other writers that I exchanged feedback with, seeds planted. I have been a lifelong learner, asking questions and pushing myself to grow. This is something I believe will help me to write, digging deep, pushing boundaries and above all having fun doing it. I would recommend this course to anyone interested in stretching their writing skills. They won’t be disappointed.

I am going to take away a renewed ability to engage in a writing process, I think I learnt to write in an uninhibited way through this process, and I hope I will continue a low-pressure creative practice more for my own self-care rather than anything else. In addition, I will be signing up to do the short story course and the novel course! I’m all in!

As someone who loves to read but hasn’t written creatively since high school, I’ve been surprised by how far I’ve come in a short period. From feeling very self-conscious and critical of everything I wrote, to facing my fears and putting pen to paper on lots of different stories, I’ve learnt to be kind to myself and trust the process. Being brave and just writing often produced unexpected results, with the stories I didn’t spend too long thinking about often receiving the most insightful feedback.

There’s something grounding about crafting stories by hand, sharing them with others and embracing the messy, human side of the creative process and I’ve really enjoyed being part of that. Regardless of what the future holds, connecting with others who love the craft has reminded me that creativity will always have a place and I’m excited to see where my own writing journey takes me next.
