Success Stories!

ZOE COYLE

Zoe Coyle, one of our brilliant alumna, has let us know the exciting news that her second novel, The Dangers of Female Provocation has just been published by Ultimo Press.

Odessa Odin has it all – a successful career, an adoring husband and a close circle of friends to whom she is fiercely loyal. On the surface they’re living a glittering London life of wealth, but underneath this veneer lies painful truths of betrayal, neglect and unfulfilled ambitions.

It’s a tightrope of holding themselves and their marriages together as their men transgress the promises they made at the altar with the blithe entitlement they’ve enjoyed all their lives. For the women, there’s just too much to lose.

The Dangers of Female Provocation is a razor-sharp, delicious testament to the force of women stepping into their own power.

Recent Course Feedback

Some snippets of the wonderful feedback that we receive back from recently completed courses. We update these each newsletter. They show what a large variety of writers get out of our writing courses.

“I just finished this rad four-week writing course. It’s better than creative writing at university by far. The lessons are so practical and you’re really held to account to apply them to your work each week. I especially loved the focus on character journeys and creating conflict.

I was so surprised how much my writing improved and how much it helped me push through that little voice in the back of my head that says I have nothing worth saying. One of the best parts though, was reading everyone else’s work. It becomes clear how the same story brief or plot can result in ten, twenty or a hundred different stories. That’s kind of beautiful.”

Tracey, Unlocking Creativity Online

“I already knew that I wanted to write, that’s a lifelong dream, but this course encouraged me to create a tangible daily writing practice, and to focus on getting words on the page.”

Sophie, Unlocking Creativity Online

“Thanks for everything, it has been a super exciting journey and I have learned so much, not just about the technical side of writing, but about myself and my right brain imagination which is well and truly alive. Looking forward to starting the Second Draft!”

Danielle, First Draft Online

“The course has given me confidence to continue to write and I discovered that I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would. In the past my career required me to be short sharp and specific. Bullet points were encouraged. The freedom to not have to conform to someone else’s agenda is liberating. Thanks to all the tutors and fellow students. Looking forward to the next part of the learning journey.”

Peta, First Draft Online

“Thank you all for this wonderful experience.”

Nicola, First Draft Online

“The Writers’ Studio inspired me to become a writer. I hardly recognise myself today from the scared little artist I was five years ago. I’m so glad that I found you on the internet in 2018. I have learned so much more from you and the many tutors who have given me feedback on my writing than in all the previous decades when I tried to learn how to write stories by using books I borrowed in the library. It is definitely feedback that has motivated me to keep going. I hope one day to come back to the Writers’ Studio to have another go.”

Rosa, Third Draft Online
