We offer creative writing courses live at our Bronte Studio in Sydney or Online, using our unique interactive program.

For those who haven't worked with us, we offer two main courses.

1. Four Week Unlocking Creativity Course. Whether you’re just starting out, a professional writer or somewhere in between, you’ll learn tools and techniques to unlock your creativity and dramatically improve your writing. For more information.

2. The Ten Month Novel and Screenplay First Draft Course. Many people dream of writing their novel or screenplay - this course will get you doing it. You'll learn all about story structure, find the story you want to write and complete your first draft in ten months. For more information.

The Writers' Studio was established in 1992 in Sydney, Australia and since then thousands of students have completed our creative writing courses both live in our Studio and online.

There is no one way to write, but the right guidance and support will get you there much quicker, by a factor of ten-to-one. You don't have to reinvent the wheel.

The Writers' Studio courses are totally practical and offer a step-by-step process to bring out the best in you and your work. We offer detailed structural techniques, story templates, practical exercises, expert tuition and a supportive and inspiring environment to help and guide you on every step of your writing journey.

Once you've learnt the tools and techniques, the process of writing becomes more fun, profound and effective.

Roland Fishman, the founder of the Studio, conducts all live classes ensuring a high standard of course delivery is upheld. He has been a professional writer since 1980, worked as a journalist for Sydney's major metropolitan newspapers and has published three books.

Roland believes the process of writing fiction nourishes and expands the spirit and that everyone has the ability to write and tell their story if they put in the time and effort required to master the essential tools and techniques of fiction writing.

Our class sizes are strictly limited to ensure personal attention. Our commercial premises are located in Bronte, in Sydney's eastern suburbs.
