We are constantly amazed and inspired by the quality of the work produced in our classes and the talent of participants. And how much everyone's creativity, writing and storytelling ability improves.

As  always, our courses were booked out in 2012, thanks in part to the great word of mouth you all take a hand in generating. Thank you so much for telling your friends and colleagues. We are very appreciative and grateful. We also wish to thank our incredible team who are listed below. Without them, we couldn't do what we do.

SUCCESS STORIES

The ultimate goal of all our courses is to enable writers to realise their creative potential and get their stories out into the world. 

As Victoria Nelson said, "Applaud every small victory, because every time you applaud a small victory, you create an environment in which a larger victory can grow."

We update an ongoing blog page that has been tracking Writers' Studio participants' successes over the last few months.

Here are several recent additions to end 2012.

Karen Davis signed a two book deal with Simon & Schuster. Her first, a crime novel called Sinister Intent, is going to be published next August.

She wrote to Kathleen, "I wanted to thank you and Roland for doing such a great job. I really enjoyed doing the course with you both. It gave me the confidence and determination to keep writing. I feel like doing your course was the beginning of my new career."

James Forbes wrote a full feature screenplay called The House of Special Purpose and entered it into the Oaxaca International Film Festival in Mexico. He was chosen as a finalist and had to make his way there in November. He didn't win, but he came away with eight producers spread across the USA, UK and Germany interested to know more! 

He wrote, "Dear Roland & Kathleen, Without your support and education throughout your course, I would not be sitting where I am today."

Yasmin Khan, one of our wonderful online tutors, wrote an enchanted poem for kids and a start-up kids clothing company bought it for $1000. It's going to be included with every single dress they send out and will feature on their website with a credit. Yasmin doesn't think this is very literary but we believe you can be great and commercial.

NEW TUTORS: WELCOME JESS BLACK AND LIBBY TULIP

Two new tutors have recently joined us at The Writers' Studio.

Jess Black worked at Random House where she wrote 17 children's books for different series including The Bindi Wildlife Adventure Series, RSPCA's Animal Tales and Bindi Behind the Scenes.

She also writes for several publications, gives author talks in schools and is currently working on a new children's book.

This is one of our favourite quotes, which encapsulates our philosophy about the creative power lying dormant in many aspiring writers waiting to be bought forth:
